Boys who come to camp are some of the bravest you’ll ever meet. They choose to deal with abuse, addiction, trauma, defiance, apathy – whatever tore their lives apart. The boys live outside year-round, build their own shelters, and are compelled to learn - truly learn - by immersing themselves in their environment. Adventure trips are pinnacle experiences that can transform a hodgepodge of individuals into a group that achieves great things. One group wanted to canoe from the middle of Georgia to the ocean. They created an itinerary and a list of everything they’d need. What they didn’t realize is they would overcome pride, learn to ask for help, and forge trust while navigating the river. Enduring storms, sharks, alligators, and more, the boys strove to accomplish their goals with the hope that, at the end of their journey, they would become better people, able to regulate their emotions and act selflessly for the benefit of the community. Whether riding camels in the Jordanian desert, exploring Incan and Quechuan ruins, or diving with great white sharks in South Africa, Jason loves adventure. But Jason's most impactful adventures don't happen abroad. They happen at Cameron Boys Camp where he teaches and counsels at-risk boys to overcome difficult struggles through groupwork, fortitude, and faith.
