This impressive gold sampler of Roman coins is the result of many years of careful selection, with beautiful examples of Aurei and Solidi dating from the late Republic through to the later Roman Empire. It has been put together with a very keen eye for both quality and rarity, as well as a real enthusiasm for the historical background to the individuals represented on the coins. Thus, the building of a magnificent gallery of portraits of emperors and empresses was an important aim.
