Accomplished Canadian multi-media sculptor Sarie Marais tells her story, personal evolution, and development as an individual and artist. Starting with her roots in the war-torn Netherlands, through immigration to Canada with her family and her early years in Canada as a young wife and mother, we follow her growing dissatisfaction with the expectations and lack of choices in a Dutch Reformed Church family. Her eventual rebellion comes at a huge personal cost but also leads to the launching of her career. With time as a great healer, a level of reconciliation with her family occurs, and most of all, peace with herself. Sarie Marais lives in Niagara-on-the-Lake with her husband, Gordon Young, still spending extended time in Europe.
