Species is US Native, not introduced alien Seed Packet designed for 15 Square Feet of Planting A 4’ to 6’ tall native perennial with strikingly beautiful large white flowers with red centers. A summer flowering plant growing best in medium to wet soils and on full sun sites. Rosemallow is a 4’ to 6’ tall native perennial with perhaps the largest and showiest of any of our native perennials. The flowers are a big open cone of five white petals with red bases and a contrasting column of yellow stamens in the center. Rosemallow flowers in summer with individual flowers only lasting a short time but succeeding flowers make this a very long flowering plant. It is usually found in wetlands, marshes, wet meadows, and other damp sites and prefers full sun but tolerates some partial shade. Rosemallow is easily grown from seed and is a spectacular addition to butterfly and hummingbird gardens or pollinator conservation gardens. It is used widely in wetland restoration and in retention basins.
