This book is the most complete list of burials for the Andrew S. Rowan Memorial Cemetery in Sweet Springs, Monroe County, West Virginia. Prior to the opening of the Andrew S. Rowan Memorial Home, this cemetery was referred to as the “Rowan Graveyard.” The Rowan Graveyard had two known burials documented in 1927. This book includes the two burials documented in 1927 and burials from the years of 1945 through 1966.In 1941, the state of West Virginia purchased the property formerly known as “Sweet Springs Resort” or "Old Sweet" and converted it into a hospital for Tuberculosis patients. During this time, it was known as Sweet Springs Sanitarium. In 1945, an act of West Virginia Legislature established the facility as a home for the aged and infirm. The facility was renamed The Andrew S. Rowan Memorial Home. The Andrew S. Rowan Memorial Home was also documented under the following additional names: A.S. Rowan Memorial Home, Andrew S.
