Two days before Christmas, an unprecedented blizzard forces the closure of airports across western Canada and the US. A jumbo jet low on fuel lands in Calgary and slides off the icy runway. The airport mobilizes immediately, only for the emergency to devolve into a hijacking, putting hundreds of lives at risk. Meanwhile, a Royal Air Force Learjet, carrying a young royal couple unable to land in Calgary, is diverted to a rural airport nearby. The blizzard rages, burying everything under several feet of snow as the city is brought to a screeching halt. As Calgary’s police scramble to manage the hostage situation unfolding at the Calgary Airport, Detective Bradley Coulter is sent to Springbank Airport to protect the vulnerable royal couple until the blizzard blows over and backup can arrive.
