Rudiments In Slow Motion features the original drumming rudiments, including the 26 American Drum Rudiments, the New Innovations and Variations Rudiments, and the Swiss Rudiments. My teacher, Frank Arsenault, provided a clear blueprint for initiating each of the 26 American Drum Rudiments on his recording. When I was 15, I transcribed the opening rhythm for every rudiment as demonstrated by Mr. Arsenault, and while still in high school, I named the collection "Rudiments in Slow Motion." I firmly believe that every teacher and student should know the starting rhythm for each rudiment. Begin each rudiment slowly, gradually increase your speed, and then ease back into the original rhythm. Remember, slow practice is the most effective practice. As a special bonus, you will find motivational quotes shared by Johnny Lee Lane throughout his career. Enjoy!
