This fairly short and approachable book is about how folks over 60 (seniors) can improve their own sleep life. It was written to help older adults sleep better, because seniors are very often distressed by sleep problems. The book focusses on problems relating to falling asleep, staying asleep and maintaining alertness during the day. It aims to point out some fairly minor behavioral changes and attitude adjustments which may help improve a senior’s sleep life, as well as describing some of the underlying theory and experimental evidence that underpin them. Some of this advice runs counter to conventional wisdom which may apply to younger adults, but which may be inappropriate to the senior.
