Most alarm systems, even wireless alarm systems, can monitor one or two hard wired alarms, whether it's smoke detector relays like this or window alarms. Some people hope that the wired alarm is a normally closed circuit, while others hope that it is a normally open circuit, and this relay module has outputs from both.
