On a sunny Humboldt County afternoon a young coed skinny dipping in a creek dashes giggling intro the bushes teasing her boyfriend to give chase. Her trail goes up a steep meadow to the woods along the ridge line. He reaches the trees where her footprints in the grass disappear. The girl has vanished into the Curse of Humboldt County. The natural beauty of this piece of California attracts new moneyed folks relaxing their lives away, students at Cal Poly Humboldt majoring in themselves, Cannabis Studies, Social Work and Art have no idea about the curse overhanging them. Jason Benson, professor of Theater and Film and sometime Hollywood actor, confronts it head on when the face of a young woman he once loved turns up dead on the front page of The Times Standard newspaper; Teaming up with two good friends and an elegant female FBI Special Agent he leads the way on a baffling, unworldly supernatural quest for answers.
