QUICKTRONIC PROStart ballasts utilize a micro-controller based circuit to apply a precise amount of cathode heat prior to starting the lamp. This ensures that the cathodes have reached optimum temperature before the lamp is started. Once the lamp is ignited, the ballast reduces the mount of cathode heat to the optimum level, to assure long lamp life. This coil heat reduction also has the added advantage of energy savings over typical electronic rapid start ballasts.
