How far would one travel to help those in need? How brave must one be to power through an environment full of unpredictable peril? For Sabe and Uganda, the best thing needed to get through it all is one another. Uganda, a female giant sable antelope who is normally outgoing and fun, has instead been feeling stressed searching the land far and wide in hopes of finding a suitable male of her species. She’s in great need of finding one soon, for there’s tribulation happening back home. The current leader of her harem, who is supposed to protect the females from danger, is instead becoming the danger due to harmful neglect and abuse. The females are stressed, scared, and losing hope on surviving in their own homeland thanks to the current leader’s bad ways. All this was enough for Uganda to make the decision to seek out a better leader for the sake of her family. Something had to be done, and she could not bare to wait for change to come any longer. After letting her herd-mates know her plan before secretly sneaking away, she then began her quest. After roughly four days out on a grassy pasture (where the story begins in the first chapter), she finally comes across a male that seems to have all the traits she's looking for. He appears to be grazing on his own oddly enough, as if he was almost waiting for her to find him. She approaches with hope in her heart that this is finally the big chance she needs to help herself and her family. It's a bit of a rocky start with first impressions, as Uganda cannot contain her excitement and relief upon finally finding another male after searching for so long, but with some proper introductions she meets Sabe. A loner who seems a little bit overconfident and somewhat egotistical, but is actually quite wholesome to talk to nonetheless. Uganda then explains her situation to Sabe and asks for help. Sabe upon hearing her plea, surprised at the sudden request and saddened upon knowing about her complicated situation, ultimately decides to help through his own kind-heartedness and loyalty. That is where the true journey begins for both antelopes.
