Originally from Argentina, she's made Australia home and is an accomplished author and storyteller. I've read a couple of her other books, but this one is my favourite. I loved the characters - Sammy the seed who blossoms into a Jacaranda tree (and while they're flowering in my suburb at the moment it was lovely to see Neme capture their amazing colour in her picture book), the wise old oak tree and the cute little oxygen molecules. I like the freshness of this book and how it conveys a science message in a fun and inspiring way. Neme is very good at this. She delivers her conservation method without being too worthy or boring and the illustrations are fun, lively, cute and uplifting.
