I have compiled and edited this collection of monologues and duologues by the great Irish writer, George Bernard Shaw, for both male and female actors to study as well as enjoy. These classic scenes are suitable for a range of solo and duo acting exams as well as for auditions and festivals. This book is ideal for students and is a useful resource study for teachers of drama. I have tried and tested these scenes with numerous students over the years with great success and thoroughly enjoyed working on them. The monologues and duologues in this collection are taken from a range of Shaw’s plays. There are some notes about the period and style of writing, along with some acting tips. Each scene has an introduction prepared suitable for exam or festival work and are also timed with exam performances in mind. There are very few stage directions, only those deemed necessary, as this will allow the performer and director of the scenes more flexibility and creativity.
