Replacement Flywheel: Today’s tightly packaged clutch systems leave little room for error. The clearance between the disc damper and the flywheel-to-crankshaft bolt heads is so small that the flywheel must be replaced with every clutch installation. LuK Flywheel: The dual-mass flywheel absorbs engine vibrations before they are transmitted to the driveline where they can rattle gears. It has a primary section that bolts to the crankshaft, and a secondary section, which the clutch is bolted onto. Dual Mass Flywheel: The primary section of the LuK DMF dampens, isolates engine vibrations and prevents engine torque spikes from damaging the transmission.
