Seven Days in September 1994 chronicles a seven day, 26 rolls of film and 2000-plus mile journey in search of trains in New England, Quebec, and New Brunswick. It was my last few months working in Massachusetts, and that called for an epic last hurrah. Beginning and ending in Danville Junction, ME, my lens found Guilford on the former Maine Central and the St. Lawrence and Atlantic on the former Grand Trunk in Maine. In New Hampshire, there was the New Hampshire and Vermont on the former Maine Central Mountain Division. Vermont's offerings were the Lamoille Valley with a Passenger Extra East, and the Richford Wayfreight and 917 on the Canadian Pacific. Quebec's contribution was the Canadian National at Estcourt and nearby locations. The bulk of the week was spent exploring new territory on the Canadian National's Pelletier, Napadogan, Newcastle and Dalhousie Subdivisions in New Brunswick. VIA Rail's Ocean was captured outside of Moncton, NB. Day 6 was at Canadian National's Gordon Yard Diesel Shop and Diesel Facility in Moncton, NB. Day 7 wrapped up on the Canadian Atlantic Railway in Brownville Junction and the Section House at Bodfish. The final train was Guilford back at Danville Junction, a few hundred feet away from where it all began seven days earlier. If you're hoping for a book that's all sunshine and blue skies, well, so was I. The weather wasn't great all of the time, but the trains were. If you're hoping for a book that's a snapshot in time of things that you largely can't photograph anymore - this is for you. There are 163 color and black and white images. typically not more than two to a page, and over a dozen two-page spreads. It's all about the images, the memories, and the history.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
