Allan Starling traces his roots back to the UK. His grandparents emigrated from there to South Africa in the late nineteenth century. He was born and educated in Cape Town and later moved to Los Angeles, California, where he met his future wife, Sue. She, in turn, is a direct descendant of John and Priscilla Alden who sailed on the Mayflower. Allan traveled worldwide as International Coordinator of Global Recordings Network (GRN) where he worked for fifty years.
