BOOK 1 OF THE SHATTERED LEGACY SERIES The story of Shattered Legacy follows the lonely, Ex-Rogue Xaxm, assumed under the title of “Lord” as right of castle deed purchase. Xaxm is the chaotic-neutral bound protagonist who follows his own self-serving interests, until an unexpected, harrowing adventure derails him off his aimless path. His dark heart is eventually touched by an unexpected figure as he continues in his journey of personal growth and self-discovery. The mystical and magical world exists on an alternate planet Earth in an earlier era of time. There is no shortage of vast green foliage and paved travel routes leading to intricately designed cities, towns, and wilderness between. Plentiful are the desert sands, beautiful are the woodland forests and infinite are the ocean seas. With the boundless lands to be ventured, it stands as veritable reason for the division of power; namely in the form of castle ownership. With a limited number of castles world-wide, each represents a sliver of power to be fought for. This power struggle however, is only a miniscule aspect of the real challenges to be faced. As Xaxm embarks on his grand escapade, he begins to acknowledge his own duality of purpose between insignificant and essential. He is eventually pulled deeper into the themed “fate” as unknown figures continue to make themselves known to him; among friends, and among foes. Love and hate, companionship and loneliness, gain and loss; those words alone cannot surmise the totality of outcomes at behest of the many unique stories within. This adventure evolves to become more mysterious as ancient antagonists assert their own plans into the mix. The tale that begins with the solitary, self-righteous “hero” shapes into an epic of companionship as the world turns out to be a much different place when removed from the illusion that “we” are all the main characters of our centered worlds. In the universe of mystical and magical, there exists numerous forms of spells and enchantments. From dark magic to light; gravity control to time manipulation; fire to ice - and everything in between. The battles that take place will showcase the myriad of possibilities for powerful characters that exist amongst the fray. Xaxm will eventually learn that life is far from as linear as once thought as the concept of “time” is put to the test. There are no shortages of twists and turns, in all forms of the curiously unexpected. The fate of the world ultimately falls mercilessly to the decisions that take place with Xaxm as both the center, as well as the distant irrelevant of this grisly and dramatic, action packed tale.
