Shattered Sensitivity is a collection of poems I wrote over the course of five years. They are written about experiences from my freshman year of high school to the end of my freshman year of college. Over those five years I cried, got angry, ran off, and became silent. I went through things that I wouldn’t want any other teen to go through. I struggled through feelings of hurt that I don’t ever want anyone else to feel. But as I look back, I also realize that despite my struggles, I also learned. I learned how to love others like Christ loves his people. I learned to cry for the pains other people were feeling that were causing them to hurt me. I learned that despite of all the pain and heartbreak, I still had hope. Throughout all of these situations, I had God to turn to and the hope of eternity despite this broken world. That is what these poems are about. My goal in publishing Shattered Sensitivity is that you learn something too; about yourself, about the complexity of emotions, and about the sovereignty of God.
