When I graduated from high school all of the senior class were asked for a “saying” to be placed under their photo in our yearbook. Of course, the guys generally wanted to have cool or humorous sayings associated with them. I remember thinking about the fact that this would be written down and therefore outlive me. So I began to consider what one brief message I could share that would describe what I wanted to do with my life. I began to also think about the statement my children or grandchildren might read someday that would tell them about me. So, I had them put this under my photo: “Shine your light for Jesus” . That has been my motto for all these years. I feel I have been very blessed because our Lord has allowed me to see His light shine in most circumstances and through so very many people. In turn, I try to shine my light so that others will see the Lord. Jesus said, “People don’t light a lamp and hide it under a basket”. I'm sharing a few of my stories in this book with the hope they might be refreshing and help you see God’s light shining in your day-to-day life. I hope you're encouraged by them. Fred Perkins
