Forty-year-old Julie Dartmoth, or “Joules”, as her friends and family call her, feels a strong calling from the Lord to remain single forever. Her younger sister Sadie writes her a letter, asking her how she came to that conclusion for her life. During a two-week solo camping trip to Stampede Reservoir in Northern California, during the autumn of 2024, Julie explains just how and why she’s come to this decision, which she feels is from the Holy Spirit. Her calling, however, is not without some severe attacks from the enemy, both past and present. During her adventure in the Tahoe National Forest via a vintage 1984 Chevy Mallard Motorhome, the young woman is confronted by memories, disappointments, and even periods of past despair at her singleness. Through her informal, honest, and humorous correspondence, Miss Dartmoth radiates the purity, joy, and contentment that can be found in a Calling of permanent singleness.
