Smude's Brand Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil is the perfect staple for every kitchen! Valued for its light, buttery flavor and nutty aroma, sunflower oil is extremely versatile and can be used for everything from grilling and frying to cold salads and baking. Because it can withstand temperatures up to 450°F, sunflower oil is superb for high-heat cooking. As the foundation of Smude’s all-natural mission, our sunflower oil is made using the cold pressing process. This means that our oil is produced without any heat or chemicals—as a result, Smude’s Sunflower Oil retains all the nutritional benefits that get destroyed during the refining process. Sunflower oil is cholesterol-free, high in “good” unsaturated fats, and low in “bad” saturated fats, making for the ideal heart-healthy cooking oil! Boasting more vitamin E than any other vegetable oil, sunflower oil is also excellent for strong immunity and healthy skin, hair, and eyes. The vitamin E in sunflower oil contains antioxidants that help with premature aging and wrinkles, keeping your skin looking young and fresh! Sunflower oil also contains linoleic acid, which helps your skin retain moisture. Reinforcing this natural moisture barrier is especially helpful for those with eczema or otherwise dry skin. Made with high oleic non-GMO sunflower seeds, Smude’s Sunflower Oil is naturally gluten-free, and we never use any artificial flavors or additives. Naturally gluten free and made in a facility free from peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, egg, milk, soy, shellfish, fish, and sesame. Proudly produced in Pierz, Minnesota by the Smude family. All sunflower seeds are grown in Minnesota and the Dakotas. Because our sunflower oil is cold pressed and unrefined, it has a robust shelf life of two years from the bottling date. For the best flavor, store in a cool, dark place. Refined cooking oils have a bland, neutral flavor because they’ve been bleached and deodorized with chemicals. In contrast, our sunflower oil is cold-pressed and unrefined—this means no heat or chemicals are used in processing, preserving the distinctive flavor and nutritional content. If you notice a white layer at the bottom of the bottle, it’s completely normal! It's a natural wax that comes from the layer in between the sunflower seed and the sunflower kernel, and it's completely safe to eat. The layer can form if the bottle has sat for a bit, so all you need to do is shake the bottle to get it reincorporated.
