Alvin Edmunds wrote and published his first book at the age of 74. At this time it is his only book. His book is a true love story about himself and the girl he met when they were 15 years old. Alvin and Marion Salerno both lived in East Boston, Massachusetts. They met in high school and never dated anyone else. After high school Alvin went to Boston College. He earned a degree in finance, and also earned a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in 1960. Alvin married Marion on April 23rd 1961. He completed two years on active duty and 25 years in the U.S. Army reserves. Alvin retired from the military in 1987 with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After 48 years of marriage, Marion died in 2008 at the age of 69. Alvin has been grieving her death ever since. In 2012 he started to write their love story. "Soul Mates for Eternity" was completed and published by September 2013. Alvin currently lives in Revere, Massachusetts in the same house where they lived together for 40 years. Alvin will always wear his wedding ring, and he will never marry again. He believes that their marriage did not end with her death; and he expects to be with Marion, his only love, when he joins her for eternity.
