Barry Shaw led the dual life of a world-ranked surfer and successful commercial banker, two separate careers that merged from time to time to create a lifetime of adventure and familiarity with some interesting, and sometimes famous characters. As a young man Barry started out as a surfing rebel, but in time grew into a highly accomplished and respected athlete, family man, and credentialed businessman. During the week he donned his conservative business suit and managed bank branches and multi-million dollar loan portfolios. Evenings and weekends he changed into his board shorts and hit the beach. It all made for an interesting life full of great adventures in two opposite worlds.
