Storm Harn, sixteen, recently learned she is a mermaid. Her Sea Star clan is responsible for protecting the magical statue known as the Hurricane Lady and its home, St. Augustine, Florida. Dangerous to all mers, the Hurricane Lady lies at the heart of a century-long feud between the Sea Star and Lionfish clans. Having just recovered the royal braid, preserving the succession of her clan and thwarting a Lionfish plot, Storm must now deal with the consequences of her actions. She soon discovers her position as an heir to the clan remains tenuous. With the help of her friends and family, Storm prepares for a new series of challenges to prove her abilities and claim her birthright. Storm’s efforts are further complicated by the arrival of a stranger with their own secret agenda. An agenda that puts everyone Storm cares about at risk. Hello Friends. You may or may not know this, but publishing Storm is one of our major life accomplishments. As if the 10 years of co-writing, the countless drafts, re-writes, glasses of wine, brainstorm sessions, more re-writes, and more wine, and FINALLY having the results in hand wasn't enough to call Storm an accomplishment...writing any old book was never the goal...Storm had to reach rather amazingly high expectations set by us. And, we believe Storm and her family - both human and mer - have done rather wonderfully...they embody the resilience of generational bonds, the strength of women, the headstrong nature of teenagers, but most importantly, the love that surrounds the whole messy thing we call family. We set out to write book for young adults to read and find (and believe) their inner strength. Turns out we wrote books that helped us find and believe in ours. Thank you for joining us on this journey! Tina is a proud cat mom living in St. Augustine. Meghan, mother to 3 and wife to 1, currently lives in the Florida Keys. In addition to writing, Meghan works for Habitat for Humanity and plays an active role in hernew community in the Keys and Tina dives headfirst into her art. But don't let the distance fool you, she and Tina are still fast friends and co-authors and are busy working on Storm's next adventures.
