The Surgeon General of the United States has referred to dental caries (tooth decay) as the single most common chronic childhood disease. It also happens to be one of the most preventable of childhood diseases. Sugar Bugs was created to help children understand the process of how we get cavities. More importantly, it teaches them how to prevent cavities. This is a lesson that can't be taught early enough. Due to limited access to care some children may never have heard the most basic oral hygiene instructions. This book is meant to give everyone the opportunity to have a happy healthy smile.
