Award-winning photographer Glenn Randall dedicated seven years to climbing each of Colorado's 54 peaks over 14,000 feet with one goal in mind: to capture the glory of sunrise from each summit. His quest required hundreds of hours of planning and preparation, then scaling the peaks in the dark while carrying a pack loaded with camera gear. Randall's reward and yours is this beautiful collection of unique and dramatic images that will put you on the summit just as the sun gilds the far horizon. Since 1979, Glenn Randall has combined his love of wilderness with a passion for photography. His intimate knowledge of atmospheric optics, weather, and the landscapes he photographs allows him to find the intersections of magical light and stunning subject matter that produce exceptional images. His work has been published in calendars for The Audubon Society, Avalanche, Barnes & Noble, Brown Trout, Sierra Club, The Nature Conservancy, and Runner's World, and in Audubon, GEO, Outdoor Photographer, Outside, SKI, Los Angeles Times Magazine, National Geographic Adventure, New York Time Magazine, and many other outlets. At age 57, he has accumulated over 1,200 photo credits, including 75 covers, and sold over 10,000 prints. In addition to Sunrise from the Summit, he was the sole photographer for two books of landscape photographs, Rocky Mountain National Park Impressions, and Colorado Wild & Beautiful, also published by Farcountry Press. He is also the author of The Art, Science, and Craft of Great Landscape Photography.
