It’s June in the town of Ottawa and time for Agate Fest. But, Lexi Marx and her friends, Cricket and Foster, aren’t in the mood for celebrating as visitors and residents go missing. Could it be Lake Superior that claimed lives? Some authorities think so. Were they lost in the woods of Upper Michigan? Possibly. Could the culprits be Lexi’s or Cricket’s new romantic interests? They are on the suspect list – along with others. Are the disappearances random? Lexi and her friends know that they are not - due to Lexi’s gift of sensing what has happened. Yet, she only sees a looming figure against a dark sky. Her inability to share what she knows with the sheriff haunts her. She relies on her friends to help her sort through the clues, but nothing is actually leading them in the right direction. When a little girl goes missing from the local Mission, the search is heightened. The local search and rescue dogs, Ghost and Gumshoe, are now working hard to stay on the trail of those who are lost. They too are hitting dead ends. As tensions heat up and storms brew, the trio is desperate to guide the sheriff, family, and townsfolk to locate those who are missing before Lake Superior lives up to its reputation and … she never gives up her dead.
