She has previously worked with the Institute of Advanced Studies of the United Nations University in Japan as well as with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Austria. A recipient of several international awards, she is a member of several important international and national committees and panels. Among others, Professor Parikh was the National Project Coordinator of a UNDP project on capacity building for environmental governance, Chairperson of the Environmental Economics Research Committee (EERC) and Environmental Consultant to the UNDP and the World Bank. She has made significant contributions in the areas of natural resource accounting and valuation, climate change, energy and power systems modelling and technology assessment. Her previous publications include Sustainable Regeneration of Wetlands; North-South Co-operation for Climate Change ; and Environmental Governance Series , Volumes 1 to 5. Hemant Datye is an independent consultant based in Pune. After obtaining his Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Bombay, he acquired advanced training in environment and wildlife conservation and management, and in environmental economics. He has been a fellow under the Capacity 21 Project sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme.
