YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A TACO TO BE AWESOME – DO YOU BELIEVE IT? How this book came to be... Gideon Bernock loves to draw. He drew pages and pages of tacos. They were doing different jobs, and others were from various countries. He showed his artwork to his Mima (Danielle Bernock). She loved them...but then discovered there was one lone burrito among all the tacos, and it was upset. Mima asked, “What’s wrong with the burrito?” Gideon replied, “He’s upset because he’s not a taco.” Mima’s heart sank, and she said, “We need to create a book to help kids know that they don’t have to be a taco to have value.” This activity book is what we created with over 100 ways to have fun, building self-esteem. This unique activity book is a fresh and entertaining approach to talking about and building self-esteem in young people. Gary the taco is a funny guy who has lots and lots of friends. Gary wants everyone to see their value and feel good about themselves. Poor self-esteem is a worldwide epidemic for all ages. But the 2nd leading cause of death in kids ages 10-14 is suicide. This is unacceptable. Kids need to know , understand , and internalize their inherent value as a human being. They need to know how much they matter. It can be awkward for kids to talk about their value. My 12-year-old grandson and I made it fun. There are puzzles, mazes, coloring pages, fill-ins, stories, and more. Enjoy over 100 fun things to do while building self-esteem – and talking about it. Developed for elementary and middle school ages, but many adults will enjoy it as well.
