The brave individuals that were members of what is known today as the Corps of Discovery were true American heroes. Under the command of Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, they forged a path through rough and difficult country that others were soon to follow. From the mountain man searching for more prime beaver pelts to the hundreds of wagon trains bringing families to the fertile lands in the far northwest, they all owe a debt of gratitude to the members of the expedition for blazing the trail. This book contains a series of short stories that bring to light some of the happiness, the struggles, and the death that they encountered during their amazing journey. As you read these short stories, it is my hope that you will wish to learn more about these American heroes and you will become inspired to gather up your family and start your own expedition to one of the many Lewis and Clark sites that can be found along the trail. From Harpers Ferry to the Pacific Ocean, there is much to learn and discover. Whether seen or not, their footprints are there for you to follow. Hopefully, your journey along all or part of the trail will be far easier than it was during the time of Lewis and Clark. In addition to seeing some beautiful country, it will be a chance to learn a little more about the history of America. Hope to see you along the trail. Thanks and take care, Bear
