On October 16, 2025, the rock world lost one of its true icons – when Ace Frehley passed away at the age of 74. As the original "Spaceman" and lead guitarist in Kiss, Frehley inspired and influenced countless other guitar players in his wake. Serving as a member of the band throughout the '70s (an era in which the masked and costumed group became one of the most popular and successful rock acts), Frehley penned and/or sang many a Kiss classic, including "Cold Gin," "Strange Ways," "Shock Me," "Rocket Ride," and "2000 Man." And when all four Kiss members issued solo albums in 1978, Frehley's is widely considered to be the best of the bunch – serving as a true testament to his musical talents. However, Frehley's life – both personally and professionally – was marked with many highs and lows. But through it all, he continued to be beloved by his legion of fans, and further issued inspired and great music, right up until the end. To celebrate the life and career of Ace, respected rock journalist Greg Prato has compiled all of the many times he interviewed Frehley over the years into a single book, TALK TO ME: Conversations With Ace Frehley , covering a wide variety of topics (from his Kiss years through his solo career, his personal life, songwriting, his guitar playing and gear, etc.). Also included are all-new and previously unpublished "tribute interviews" with renowned names from the rock world. Featuring Eddie Trunk, Joe Bonamassa, and Soundgarden's Kim Thayil (as well as a short but colorful chat with Rush's Alex Lifeson), among others, who share their memories and thoughts about the guitarist, and discuss how they would like him to be remembered. Plus, a foreword provided by Matt Pinfield, and many vintage photos of Ace from throughout the years. Through these pages, Ace's voice, humor, and spirit live on – reminding us why the original Spaceman will forever shine among rock's brightest stars. "Ace may be gone, but his spirit lives on through these incredible interviews. His attitude, humor, lifestyle, and unique approach to music, it all shines through, making this everything an Ace Frehley fan could possibly ask for and more. Rest in peace Spaceman." -Sal Governale (The Howard Stern Show) " Talk to Me is a fantastic journey into the world of Ace. A comfort zone was clearly created between Ace and journalist/writer Greg Prato. From that comfort zone we get an adventure into the mind of the Spaceman. I couldn't be more proud to a part of this book." -Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria guitarist) "Greg Prato has long been one of my most respected music writers — someone I've followed for years because he knows how to let the real voices of rock history tell the story. Talk To Me: Conversations With Ace Frehley isn't a biography but a rich, thoughtfully assembled collection of firsthand conversations that reveal Ace in his own words and through the people who were there with him. Prato curates these interviews with care, allowing fans to experience Ace's humor, drive, struggles, and impact without filters or heavy-handed narration. For anyone who loves KISS, rock guitar, or simply hearing legends speak for themselves, this book delivers the purest form of Ace — loud, honest, and unforgettable. -John Beaudin (Rock History Music Podcast) "ACE is our DNA, for fans he's the archetypal ROCK HERO from outer space burned onto our retinas by stage fire and staring at the KISS ALIVE album cover! As musicians ACE informed our standards of what a great solo could and should be! Greg got a few of us together, a grand jury of ROCK to testify, to the truth, of the MYTH, of the SPACE ACE!, and TALK TO ME is the transcript! A must read!!!" -Parris Mayhew (AGGROS/Cro-Mags guitarist) "Sadly in 2025 we unexpectedly lost the legend, Ace Frehley. Greg's book, T alk To Me: Conversations With Ace Frehley , highlights the last 15 years of Ace's life and the music he released since his second departure from KISS. During a sad time this book has helped give me comfort, and helped me obtain some level of closure over Ace's tragic passing. A wonderful tribute." -Mike Brunn (The Rock Experience with Mike Brunn Podcast) "Ace was always so open and candid in his interviews, so to walk down this musical memory lane in the Spaceman's own words made forget how bummed I'd been since he passed. Also grateful to have my memories and feelings included along with everyone from Rush's Alex Lifeson to blues man Joe Bonomassa. RIP rockstar." -Don Jamieson (That Metal Show, comedian) "Ace Frehley was the very first guitarist I idolized as a child. Kiss was my very first concert and my father got us excellent seats right in front of Ace Frehley and I was hooked from that moment. Over the years as I became a professional musician, I got to know Ace and I grew to love the man, and everything I love about the man is evident right there in Greg Prato's book. I love this book because it captures literally everything I love
