The purpose of this book is to provide information, resources, and materials for string teachers to use when accommodating and modifying instruction for students with disabilities in the strings classroom. As music teachers, we face the challenge of simultaneously teaching students with many different types of learning styles, ability levels, and disabilities. One of the more challenging aspects of this profession is altering materials and teaching styles to meet the needs of students with disabilities in the strings classroom. Many articles and books include information on how to accommodate and modify music instruction in the general music or choral classroom, but not many are available to support music instruction in strings. Patricia De Orio teaches strings at the Elementary and Middle School level in Maryland. She has a Bachelor's in Music Education from Converse College and a Master's in Music Education from the University of Maryland. Mrs. De Orio is a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certified teacher and is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the American Strings Teacher's Association.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
