The (mostly) True (yet unauthorized) Biography of Derby: The Jonathan Ash Story is the tale of the bassist for the Kansas-based rock group Derby. Told from the perspective of his ex-wives and former girlfriends, the story examines his tumultuous childhood, threads together his contribution to Derby's start in 1974, his bartending years, his substance and alcohol abuse, his first two failed marriages, his family life, his lottery win, Derby's resurgence, and its catastrophic end. It is a sad story, filled with tragic characters. Yet, it is one filled with introspection and self-realization.
