The book presents 512 tremendous, extremely unusual and frequently beautiful chess tactics, executed by the world's strongest chess entity, chess engine Stockfish. For the purpose I have compiled a database of Stockfish games, played against different other chess engines on my computer. The engines' strength varies, and the puzzles should be comprised in the range of 1500 to 3500 elos, which is still lower than Stockfish supposed strength of nearly 4000 points. The tactics are really astounding, frequently quite weird to the human eye, simply because Stockfish monster is able to find tactical resources where other top humans are unable to. In chess there are tactics 1 move long, as well as deeper tactics 20 moves long. I have discarded the most difficult instances, since requiring enormous amount of calculation, and branching off significantly, and have included only tactics from 1 to about 10 moves long. Some will be relatively easy, while others, I suppose most, will be quite a challenge even for very strong players. But that shouldn't scare you by any means, because you will be able to learn a lot. In each position you will be looking for a move or a sequence of moves that is winning for the side to play. For the purposes of the present book the definition of winning is what it really means in real life games, getting an advantage of more than a full pawn material, which doesn't necessarily mean you should be scooping a full pawn, the exchange or a full piece, instead there might be some subtle positional or attacking compensation, just as it happens in a chess game. Most of the examples will be winning pure material though. Explanations are ample, where needed, and variations are presented in a way that all important lines are indicated, the leading line, as well as those that split off. While some offer shorter solutions, many are deeper and significantly split off, so that they might be considered as worth a couple of positions each. But don't get scared, if unable to grasp what to do, look at the explanations, and you will always get to know another very important element of chess tactics. Many of the positions have to do with attack on the king, since usually stronger players tend to dwell on attack more frequently, so you will face a nice array of checkmating patterns too, and what concerns attack, Stockfish is the primary source of inspiration. Attack, deeper acquisition of material or the revelation of deeper strategy, one thing those tactics have in common is that they hail from heaven, if gods played chess, that's how they would do it. And if you want to know how heavenly chess is played, the present book will showcase that sufficiently well. And if you by chance happen to get to grips with all or at least most of the positions, or maybe just a fair part, you will definitely experience a tremendous increase in your tactical power. And that is actually what we are all eager to do.
