This is where she met her husband Dean and raised their children. Self-taught, Joan began her serious study of astrology in 1965 and in 1969 studied with Ruth Hale Oliver. About this time she started to counsel and teach astrology. She has since achieved an international reputation as a teacher and lecturer, speaking for many groups in the U.S. and Canada.
