The Bear in the Blue Bow Tie was inspired by classic children's literature and is very much in the style of A. A. Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh) and Kenneth Grahame (The Wind in the Willows). This picture book is intended to be read aloud to children. It builds upon the natural and organic way in which children acquire fluency in language by presenting new words and sentence structures in a recognizable context. The Bear in the Blue Bow Tie unites the enchanting elements of story with the artful use of language. It engages children's natural capacity to grasp the meaning of things through context and experience, while sparking their imaginations. Reader's Favorite 5 Star Review***** "The team effort of Kristina Schoettle and Elizabeth Welch knocked the ball out of the park with The Bear in the Blue Bow Tie . This children's book is full of humor and rhymes. I have seen many children's books with contrived rhymes, but this book uses natural rhyming that flows from the tip of the pen. There are no twisted ways of pronouncing words to make them rhyme. Talk about politeness! I wish people would be as polite as the bear in the blue bow tie. You can tell he had a proper upbringing. This is an excellent book for teaching etiquette and manners to your children. It is so delightful that I read it twice. How many life lessons can a short children's picture book teach? As a parent, you can use this book to discuss gratitude, politeness, acceptance, overcoming fear, and more with your child. The lovely illustrations by Emily Hercock will enhance your child's reading pleasure and make them more interested in reading. The rhymes in the book will keep young readers laughing, and laughter increases learning. When children enjoy learning, they learn better. Parents can help their children learn lessons that will serve them well in the future. I recommend this book for all youngsters as it is fun and instructional. When reading is fun, it becomes a lifelong habit, leading to greater opportunities. Manners and proper etiquette are woefully lacking in society today. As a result, interactions tend to be abrupt and rude. Modern inventions have given us more and more free time, yet communities live at a much faster pace than before. In The Bear in the Blue Bow Tie , children are encouraged to socialize at a slow, leisurely pace. Amazing friendships can develop when one takes the time to relax and learn about each other. You cannot get more different than a child, a mannerly bear, and a bird, yet these three develop a friendship and share. Your child will love the rhymes as well as the illustrations. The bear is huggable, while the story is delightful. If I had grandchildren, this book would be found in their room and on their reading list." -Reviewed by Philip Van Heusen Reader's Favorite 5 Star Review***** "Kristina Schoettle and Elizabeth Welch's picture book story, The Bear in the Blue Bow Tie , is a simple story, almost a fairy tale or a fantasy. Told in rhyming verse, this lyrical treasure will warm the hearts of readers of all ages. The language is simple to help young readers improve their reading skills. The book begins with interactive suggestions to help young readers find specific words in the story to bolster their word recognition. The best part of this charming story is that it will encourage young readers to be imaginative and find beauty and excitement in everything around them. The illustrations are bright, bold, and colorful and help move this little story along. This book is a treasure that will be enjoyed for years to come. Loved it!" -Review by Emily-Jane Hills Orford Reader's Favorite Five Star Review***** " The Bear in the Blue Bow Tie: Humorous Poetry for Language Fluency is perfect for helping young readers improve their vocabulary.
