This volume contains the twenty-two single original ragtime pieces for solo piano by American composer Dr. Richard St. Clair (b. 1946), plus his sensational Piano Sonata no. 7 "Ragtime Sonata" merging ragtime style with classical sonata-form. These are classical ragtime pieces, tonal and with roots in the spirit of Scott Joplin, James Scott and Joseph Lamb but with St. Clair's stamp of originality. Composed 1970-2009: "Toccata-Rag" dates from 1970, prophetically anticipating the ragtime rage soon to follow.
