An exploration of the allocation of money within family households in New Zealand, the focus of this volume is on ethnic and gender differences in the access of individual members to family money. It discusses issues such as different banking arrangements, control of the family budget, access to money for personal spending, the costs of participating in Wmhanau or Pacific Islands communities and the way major spending decisions are made.
