The Connected Detective: A Curios Death is a mystery that takes place in the near future. Archibald Teal, an expert in computers and artificial intelligence, decides to help the police with their detective work with the help of his digital assistant Erasmus. He is teamed with detective Nikki Sharp to help find the murderer of a prominent businessman. Finding clear evidence proves difficult. As the case evolves, their personal relationship evolves as well. William Meisel, Ph.D., is a technology expert in Artificial Intelligence who wrote a book on machine learning while a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at USC. He later ran the Computer Science Division of a defense company and founded and ran a company developing speech recognition technology. He is currently a writer and technology analyst in using human language to converse with computers. The "near future" in the book is one he expects.
