In 1894, residents of the growing town of Orion, Michigan reported seeing a dragon in the town’s central lake. Everyone from doctors to ministers had their own tales to tell about the dragon, even farmers who blamed the dragon for their missing livestock. This historical fiction work establishes the mythology of the Lake Orion dragon through pseudo journal entries, newspaper articles, and other forms of writing from that time period, all while keeping with the spirit of Lake Orion’s true history. Essentially, what would it look like if the legend of the Lake Orion dragon were true? “Lake Orion locals, especially, will find it a fun and fanciful read. The format of using correspondence and articles is imaginative... All in all, worth the read!" Rev. Larry Wik, Senior Pastor, Lake Orion United Methodist Church
