Louise Bonnett-Rampersaud was born in England and moved to the United States when she was six. She has lived in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. She received a journalism degree from the University of Maryland. Louise has written a number of children's books, including Polly Hopper's Pouch , illustrated by Lina Chesak; How Do You Sleep? , illustrated by Kristin Kest; Bubble & Squeak , illustrated by Susan Banta; and Never Ask a Bear , illustrated by Doris Barrette. The first two books in The Secret Knock Club series, The Dyno-Mite Dog Show and The Spring Un-Fair , were published in 2012. She currently lives in Maryland with her family. Adam McHeffey is a musician as well as an author and illustrator. He graduated with a BA from SUNY Purchase College and currently lives in Center Moriches, New York. In addition to illustrating The Secret Knock Club series, Adam is the author/illustrator of two picture books: Asiago , which School Library Journal called "funny and fresh," and Rudy and Claude Splash Into Art , published in fall 2014.
