The Enchanted Necklace is a new classic princess fairy tale intertwined with Norse mythology. Silya, the feisty ten year old Princess of Norway, eagerly awaits the arrival of her cousin and best friend, Princess Hedda of Denmark. The princesses are both looking forward to the summer solstice celebration, but trouble lurks in their future as magical villains see the girls as being vital for their deadly conspiracy. Hedda and Silya find themselves cast into a dangerous adventure filled with fire giants, female warrior angels, and the God of Thunder. Can the princesses save themselves and their kingdoms, or will the forces of chaos overwhelm and destroy them? Age Range: 8 - 12 years (formerly the Bifrost Bridge) "Little girls will easily be able to close their eyes and imagine themselves as one of the two pretty little princesses in this tale. From Royal families to brave Valkyries, this beautiful tale has action and adventure galore." D'eBook Sharing "I felt transported to a world where mythology comes to life. The little girl in me loved the woman heroine aspect and let's face it who doesn't love Norse Mythology." The Modest Verge "The perfect combination of Norse mythology and a fun fairy tale adventure. I can't imagine a better written tale to inspire a child's creativity to flourish." Paranormal Trance Reviews "Mr.Clarke takes the often repetitive world of fairy tales and adds an elegant, dramatic twist to it, producing an epic and moving adventure that children will forever cherish!" Platinum Book Reviews "A perfect bedside story for young readers, this sweet and endearing tale highlights the value of courage and clear-headed thinking. Children will easily be able to relate to the two charming princesses in this story, who are inspirational in their bravery but also full of fun and occasionally mischievous! Like any good folk or fairy tale, the beauty in this story comes from the journey that the two girls undertake, and the ways in which they grow and learn from their experiences." Fairy Tale Scholar, Nadia Van Der Westhuizen, University of Kingston The Enchanted Necklace was first developed as stories I started telling to my two daughters back in the summer of 2003. Both girls shared a love for classic fairy tales, so I decided to try my hand at inventing original princess characters for them. As residents in Riverside, Illinois, we lived in walking distance to the Brookfield Zoo where the girls regularly admired the Norwegian Fjord Horses. When I learned this ancient breed of horse was used by the Vikings, a specific medieval setting for the stories came into focus. I am extremely pleased my daughters had the opportunity to grow up with their own princess fairy tale, and now my wish is that The Enchanted Necklace will become cherished by families across the globe.
