Because of Laura Chason’s inquisitive nature as a child, her family encourages her to pose her own question every year at their Passover Seder. As she matures, Laura aspires to become an independent woman, and a university professor. Along that path, she finds herself falling in love with Jake Kendler. Their idyllic relationship is marred by tragedy, and Laura must eventually summon the courage to change her life.
