The world stands on the brink of nuclear war. In a stunning turn of events, the old power of the Soviet Union has been reborn. Negotiations have failed. America watches as the Soviet war machine invades Israel. All that remains is to push the button and commit the world to a full nuclear holocaust. Soon, the skies are filled with nuclear warheads. Moments before impact, the missiles disappear, and both the Soviet Premier, Leonid Khrushchav, and his American counterpart, President Joseph Sullivan, suddenly find themselves sitting across from each other in a darkened room. A figure emerges from the shadows, winged and angelic. He escorts the world leaders to God's throne room, where they are to be judged. Angels and demons listen to testimony as the debate over communism or democracy plays out. Both Satan and Jesus sit as judges, the eternal deciders of a world gone mad. Each man is given one year to rule the planet as they see fit. Once time expires, they will be judged. Can either man overcome personal prejudices and constricted ideologies to become more than what they were meant to be, or will the world end? The true test of man is about to begin. Salvation or damnation awaits. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Edwin E. Pieters has always been a man with a purpose. Sometimes it takes longer to realize that purpose than we envision, however. His first novel, The Final Summit: What if the End Was Really Only the Beginning, stewed around in his head for over 30 years before finally breaking free to the waiting empty pages. After graduating from SUNY New Paltz, Edwin held several significant positions. Some of Edwin's previous jobs also included Administrative Law Judge/Hearing Officer for the NYC Office of Administrative Hearings and Trials (OATH), Federal Immigration Judge for the U.S. Department of Justice, and Adjunct Professor at the College of ASA and Queensborough Community College, where he taught various criminal justice courses. Edwin is a devoted Christian who believes that God has blessed him to serve the Lord Jesus. He is dedicated and committed to leading people to the Lord Jesus by using his writing and giving his testimony to others, telling them how God has ordered his steps that began at his birth in East New York/Brownsville to overcome many obstacles to where he stands now: an author, which he attributes only to the Glory of God. It may sound a stretch, but when not adjudicating or teaching, Edwin enjoys spending time in his favorite chair reading. Edwin is a proud father of two wonderful girls whom he loves dearly. He thanks God every day for the gifts bestowed upon him and for not letting his dream of writing ever fade.
