A playful reflection of the Ngambai proverb: “ If your friend beats you in a race, beat him in a walk.” The second tale features Sou, the Potter Wasp and the Monitor Lizard . Mischievous and greedy, Sou falls into a trap of his own making. Though he escapes with wit, his trick on the monitor lizard backfires. The lizard — guardian of ancient secrets — responds with a stunning act of revenge. Sou, in turn, attempts retaliation, but only succeeds in making a fool of himself.
