The Gospel in the Stars (Or, Primeval Astronomy), was written by American theologian, Lutheran minister, and renowned pyramidologist Joseph Augustus Seiss and was originally published in 1888. Seiss' seminal work argues that ancient constellations encode a pre-Christian prophecy of Christ. Drawing on Biblical typology, classical mythology and astronomy, Seiss retells the zodiac as a celestial gospel narrative, from Virgo’s promised seed to Leo’s triumphant king, he frames the night sky as God’s illustrated scripture for humanity everywhere.
