Sophie Junot, a female detective is the protagonist of the story. This is not your typical murder-mystery thriller. Detective Junot is faced with trying to solve multiple shocking murders. The author develops the character of Sophie Junot nicely and lets the reader experience her struggles with her career and personal emotional dilemma with the thought of becoming a first-time parent. I was impressed that the author kept the character's inner struggles secondary and did not detract from the suspense of the storyline. I enjoyed the characters in the novel. They were dealing with real issues. I loved how the author showed the reader the inner conflicts the characters are dealing with. This made them feel like someone the reader knows, can relate to, and not a fictitious character. The author draws you into each storyline as detective Junot works the murder case. The Green Mountain Murders is a fast-paced novel that kept my interest throughout. The drama is well thought out and written. It had me wanting to read more and made it difficult for me to put the book down at night. The ending was a perfect lead-in for another novel but offered just enough closure to end there. Perfect! I can't wait to read more of Detective Junot's cases. William Graham is a talented author. I highly recommend to all suspense fans!
