A story of history, hate, hurt, and healing: THE HEALING is a continuation of MAMA PUT THE LIGHT OUT. It shows a country and two families embroiled in the tragedy of a war no one wanted, but one in which everyone was somehow involved. Even those who did nothing found themselves forced to choose sides. It was a war where politics, religion, race, economy, tradition, and family values collided on battlefields that stretched from southern Pennsylvania to Texas and from New Mexico to the Florida coast. The Healing deals again with the racial hatred that festers in the hearts of men until it can no longer be contained. It shows that although healing comes in many forms, it comes to those who are willing to confront the pain with honesty and authenticity. It is not a destination, but a process...a process throughout life's journey. Samuel must learn that truth is not always what we believe it is for all is not what it seems.
