After receiving his doctorate in Psychology from Stanford University, he became one of the foremost teachers and practitioners of Ericksonian hypnotherapy. He developed Self-relations Psychotherapy, an approach that integrates mind, body and spiritual experience. Robert Dilts has been a developer, author, trainer and consultant in the field of NLP since its creation in 1975 by John Grinder and Richard Bandler. In addition to spearheading the applications of NLP to education, creativity, health, and leadership, his personal contributions to the field of NLP include much of the seminal work on NLP strategies and belief systems, and the development of 'systemic NLP'.
